Life Style Focal Points that really Sell a Home

Flowers always work

Colorful flower arrangements and attractive potted plants can do wonders for plain rooms. Vary the sizes and textures. Avoid a lot of small pots and plants - they make the room look busy and cluttered.

Bookcases are good areas for staging.  Remove a large number of books if the case is full. Go for the sparse look and then add a few accessories. They can be a small print on a tri-pod frame holder; piece of statuary or something that ties into the theme of the home. No collections should be displayed, they distract the buyer.

Images of coziness and relaxation

Create these by staging small places where a buyers imaginations can roam.

  • Wine glasses and a candle on a small table or fireplace hearth. Place several pillows nearby for comfort and coziness.

  • A small board game set up.

  • A book placed opened, old-fashioned reading glasses next to it, and a wine glass or coffee cup.
