Step # 2      clean, clean, clean

Carefully clean the kitchen until it is MARKETING CLEAN. This means spic and span clean. Everything sparkles or shines. This is a very important step so clean the kitchen is that you were detailing a new car for the showroom floor.  In step one, you removed a great number of items from the kitchen which would make this task much easier.

  1. Scour or polish the sink until it glistens.  If caulking, replace dirty or unsightly caulking.

  1. Countertops and back splashes thoroughly cleaned.  Grout on tile countertops should be in good physical condition.  White grout should be pearly white, not stained or dingy.

  1. Refrigerator shiny on the outside and inside. The inside totally clean with any messy containers cleaned or removed.  Check for orders and if there are any place a small box of Armor Baking powder and the backwater out of sight.

  1. Degrease the ventilation hood of the stove. Get it squeaky clean! If stainless steel vent filters, remove and wash them thoroughly in the dishwasher.

  1. Oven and microwave should be spotless.

  1. Trash containers and waste baskets - clean them as if you were going to eat out of them.

  1. Lighting fixtures clean and sparkling.  Overtime grease tends to build up on these fixtures and once thoroughly cleaned you will be surprised how much crud had built up.  Windows cleaned inside and outside.

  1. Base trim.  All base trim should be dusted and wipe down with a damp cloth.  Dingy base may need to be restained or repainted in order to make it look sharp and crisp.

  1. Floors spotlessly clean.  If appropriate, polished or waxed.
